The clients who have in-depth experience in Health care, came up with this idea to provide access to quality health information to every individual, across the nation using mobile and web applications

Considering the better reach of mobile applications, it was decided to build Android and iOS applications, using which anyone can access health related articles and videos. The application also includes health forums where patients can connect with experienced doctors.

The application demanded multiple language support, when it comes to dictating the articles. At the same time, all articles were created in English only. And wherever dictation is not available, the article text should be converted into corresponding language depending on the preferences set.

Solution

Synclovis team understood the requirement in detail and after the analysis they came up with the best options including the latest design trends, which were material design / material animations etc, and developed the solution. Our team rolled out the first version of both Android and iOS apps in 3 months and continued to support further development and updates for next few months.

Process

Our experienced technical team finalized the right set of technologies to be used in the project based on the requirements and future roadmap. We also spoke to third party solution providers like Akamai (for video streaming) etc. and ensured that all third party integrations and related support is streamlined for smooth execution of the project. Complete product roadmap and execution strategy was finalized.

Playing doctor videos online

The app allows users to stream the videos without losing the quality. The app was made capable of handling the quality of the stream based on the internet speed. We enhanced the streaming techniques with the support of Akamai video hosting provider, and adjusted the bitrate for seamless streaming of video.

Multilingual support with translation and speech techniques

As mentioned earlier, multilingual support and text to speech features were needed. For this, we used google translator and speech APIs and changed it based on our requirement.

Play videos in portrait and landscape mode

Client wanted users to have a youtube kind of user experience in the app. Users must be able to see the video at the top of the screen and related articles below that in the portrait mode. When the user taps on a button or rotates the device to landscape mode, the app should play the video in full screen. The app should maintain the video time & seekbar consistently without any break in audio or video while switching to & from portrait or landscape mode. We were able to ensure that the user experience and player controls are meeting the high expectations.

AWS Webservices

Apart from the mobility, we were able to suggest and guide the client to use AWS web services because of our rich experience in AWS. We also helped the client to fix the issues related to domain, by suggesting the client to use the elastic IP of AWS and many such things.
